The weaving traditions of Oushak dat back hundredds of years. In the late 19th and early 20th century Oushak became known as one of the greatest rug making towns of Asia Minor as railroad connections with the Meditterranean seabored facilitated extensive trade with the European market. Patterns favored by the West were open and spacious lending an air of relaxed elegance. Our striking Oushak pattern was inspired by an enlarged palmette trellis field design surrrounded by a rosette border. Our Oushak pattern has been specifically dfesigned to coordinate with Antique Legends pattern 2200-202 Backhtiyari and is equally compatible with our Samovar pattern 900-901 Persian Vase. Woven in the U.S.A. in a luxuriously soft construction of premium worsted New Zealand wool.
