Transitional Black Nain
The digital pictures we display have the most accurate colors possible, but we cannot be responsible for individual monitor settings.
The city of Nain on the fringes of the central Persian desert only began to weave carpets in the 20th century, but rapidly developed into an important center distinguished for the fine quality of designs. The designs are typically exquisite compositions of star medallions and interlacing floral devices often in a palette of subtle restrained colors in which light and dark blue, crimson, red, gold, white and beige dominate. Karastan's Black Nain puts a contemporary spin on the traditional palette by trading blues for dramatic black and featuring it as a ground color, while retaining subtle accents of taupe, gold, ivory and red. The original carpet from which our Black Nain is interpreted was itself woven of part silk-a fitting attribute, as the signature of all rugs in our Persian Renaissance Collection are the dazzling accents of pure white silk. The details in this rug are dazzlingly executed; the pattern complex, yet subtle. The overall design delicate and perfectly balanced-timeless in every way. This is a rug that can easily be used with traditional furnishings or be a classic foil for a more contemporary room. However it is used, it spells luxury and impeccably great style. Woven in Belgium in an ultra dense construction of premium New Zealand wool, the Black Nain design is compatible with our patterns. <<back to search results
